Arsenal travelled to the Hawthorns on Saturday afternoon and took on West Bromwich Albion.
The Gunners took the lead midway through the first half as a Mesut Ozil free-kick met the head of Olivier Giroud, who put it beyond Boaz Myhill. However, West Brom soon equalised through James Morrison who was left unmarked by Hector Bellerin and was able to poke the ball beyond Petr Cech to make it 1-1. Shortly before the break and West Brom completed their comeback, making it 2-1 after good work on the left saw them cross and the ball deflected in off Mikel Arteta.
The second half was a tight affair and Arsenal had a penalty with 10 minutes to play. Santi Cazorla stepped up and slipped as he hit the ball, blazing it well over the bar in an effort which summed up the Gunners’ performance as they lost 2-1.
