Former Arsenal player and Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson has made his predictions ahead of the Gunners’ clash with West Brom this weekend.
Arsenal take on Tony Pulis’ side in their first fixture since the international break and will be looking to pick up another three points to keep up the pace with league leaders Manchester City.
A large chunk of the Arsenal side were away on international duty over the last week and haven’t been back training with manager Arsene Wenger for very long. However, Merson argues that despite this, Wenger’s men must make sure that they come out of the blocks fighting and win the game which, if they truly want to win the Barclays Premier League title, then they really should do.
If you want to win Premier League titles, you have to go and win at the Hawthorns, but these are hard football matches because the manager has had the players for one day.
A lot of them have been away on international duty, and it could take its toll. But if they’re going to win the Premier League they have to win this game.

Merson went on to suggest that the game will be far from easy seeing as Tony Pulis is well-known for building defensively solid teams and shutting out the bigger clubs. However, he still believes that the quality that the Gunners possess should see them overcome the Baggies.
West Brom boss Tony Pulis will set up his team perfectly, play very defensively and hope to pick them off on the break or through a set piece, but Arsenal should have too much for them. 2-0.
Arsenal are currently hot on the tail of league leaders Manchester City, only behind them on goal difference and so they will be expecting to pick up maximum points in this game in order to not allow Manuel Pellegrini’s side the chance to move one step ahead of them.
