# Arsenal target – Why I don’t fancy Gunners move

It has been a key void in Arsenal’s side for years now that comes in the form of a defensive midfielder, one that they felt as though was filled by Francis Coquelin. However, there have been calls to strengthen the area with a big signing to add even more defensive solidity to the ranks at the club.

Long-term Arsenal target Grzegorz Krychowiak has [revealed the simple yet bizarre reason](https://metro.co.uk/2015/11/19/sevilla-star-grzegorz-krychowiak-reveals-the-bizarre-reason-he-rejected-arsenal-transfer-5513415/) as to why he will not move to the north London club, or anywhere in England for that matter.

In recent seasons, there have been strong links with Sporting Lisbon midfielder William Carvalho, and the now Manchester United midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin; two players that would have slotted in nicely to Arsene Wenger’s plans.

Krychowiak is rumoured to have a hefty release clause in his current contract at Sevilla, at around £25 million, but no matter how much money Arsenal have to offer, it seems as though the Polish midfielder has no plans of a future in England.
