With interest said to be coming from France, Spain, and England, SportBild reported that Borussia Dortmund have set a price tag on their striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who has torched the Bundesliga this season to the tune of 14 goals in 12 games (and 19 in 16 games in all competitions).
That price? £42m, or about the price that the Gunners paid for Mesut Özil in the summer of 2013. SportBild have claimed that Arsenal’s interest is “great,” but also lists Barcelona and PSG as potential suitors.
While PSG may seem a potentially predictable destination for the 26-year old Gabonese-French forward, reports out of Spain indicate that Barcelona may not be able to add high-cost players to their squad without balancing their books, which would likely include selling a player first.

Aubameyang has been rumoured to be an Arsenal target for some time, with journalist Kike Marin noting in the summer that he was Arsène Wenger’s second choice striker acquisition behind Karim Benzema.
Given the level of production Wenger has received from Theo Walcott and Olivier Giroud up front and the potential return of Danny Welbeck shortly after the New Year, it will be interesting to see if the manager does opt for attacking reinforcements.
