Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil is being touted with a new Arsenal contract, according to reports. This follows on from the German’s sensational form so far this season.
The 27-year-old still has two-and-a-half years left on his Gunners contract, but following his incredible assist run this season where he has set a new record of consecutive assists in the Premier League, it seems as though Arsene Wenger would like to reward his record-signing.

Ozil has played 11 Premier League games this season for the Gunners and has already registered a phenomenal ten assists, making him statistically the best playmaker in Europe so far this term.
When the German World Cup winning midfielder joined Arsenal from Real Madrid for a club record £42.5m, there was a bit of pessimism regarding his worth. That proved apt as he didn’t shine in his first two campaigns but has come on leaps and bounds this season and is showing form that is reminiscent, and perhaps arguably better than, the Real Madrid Ozil of a few years ago.

Arsene Wenger clearly wants to tie down the German’s future as quickly as possible and a new contract certainly looks on the cards.
