Former Arsenal midfielder and club legend Freddie Ljungberg has praised the legacy that Arsene Wenger has built during his 19-year tenure with the club.
Ljungberg, 38, played under the tutelage of the current Gunners boss for nine years, during which he won the Premier League twice, FA Cup three times as well as the Community shield on another three occasions. The former Sweden international was a key part of the famous Invincibles side, which went unbeaten for a whole season.
Speaking to Omnisport, Ljungberg hailed the French boss, who he claims has built a legacy and because of that will be able to leave the club when he chooses to do so, not when forced.

He’s been there a long time but he’s built how they play today, the style and the culture.
It’s what everyone talks about around the world, that’s what people remember from Arsenal at the moment.
So I think what he’s done, whenever he wants to retire he can retire.
He has a contract, he never breaks it, so at least that we know.

The Arsenal great returned to the club in 2013, taking on an ambassadorial role in which he became a key part of north London side’s growth on the international stage.
Arsenal return to Premier League action on 21st November, where they travel to the Hawthorns to face Tony Pulis’ West Bromwich Albion.
