Arsene Wenger is due to rest Alexis Sanchez in the near future. The decision was made in order to have the Chilean winger in good shape for the business end of the season.
Alexis Sanchez is one of the hardest working players in the Premier League, covering roughly 9.5KM every game for the Gunners, but word from London Colney claims the Chilean is overdoing it.
With Arsenal chasing the Premier League title, Wenger plans to recharge Alexis in order to have him in top condition for the season’s climax, where his side will attempt to bring trophies back to the Emirates.

Alexis already had a break before the season began, with Wenger insisting that his players must have at least four weeks off before returning to action. Chile side won the Copa America during the summer, which caused Wenger to allow him extra rest before the season’s early start. Despite this, Alexis still featured in the Gunners’ disappointing loss to West Ham on the opening day after only having a few days of training under his belt.
Although Wenger is keen to allow Alexis his rest, he also take into consideration the likes of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Aaron Ramsey and Hector Bellerin are currently injured and the 26-year-old may be required to play. Arsenal’s talented Chilean is currently with his national squad ahead of their international matches against Colombia and Uruguay.
