With the January transfer window edging closer and the Arsenal team in need of a few players, it comes as no surprise that Barcelona B captain Alex Grimaldo is a target for the Gunners.
The left-back is one of the most highly sought after defenders in Europe and has a host of giants chasing his signature. It has been reported that Arsene Wenger is set to make a move for the young Spaniard.
Despite being one of Barcelona’s brightest prospects, Grimaldo is yet to make the step up to the senior Barcelona side and is weighing up his options to seek out more playing time.

Arsenal may very well prove to be a realistic move for the young defender after the successes of Cesc Fabregas and Hector Bellerin, who both made the switch from Barcelona to Arsenal and cemented themselves into the Gunners’ first team. However, with Nacho Monreal in his best form to date and Kieran Gibbs working his socks off to reclaim his starting role, Grimaldo may find playing time just as scarce at Arsenal as it is at Barcelona.
