Arsenal could be set for a fight to keep a hold of one of their most prized possessions in January – with Barcelona boss Luis Enrique seriously considering splashing the cash on Theo Walcott.
The England international is currently facing a spell on the sidelines after picking up a calf injury against Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough recently but was in blistering form prior to that, scoring four goals in nine games and starring in Arsenal’s emphatic 3-0 victory over Manchester United, despite not getting himself on the scoresheet.
According to Spanish news outlet Mundo Deportivo, interest in 26-year-old Walcott could be high with their transfer ban set to be lifted in the new year.
It is highly unlikely that Walcott will leave north London for sunny Spain unless the player himself expresses an interest in leaving, due to the Gunners not being in a position where they need to sell their stars.
