Arsenal faced Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough on Tuesday evening, looking for their first win at the legendary English stadium in their last six attempts, having drawn four and lost two of their last games against the south Yorkshire side.
Two Gunners stars were brought off before the 20th minute, with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain being subbed off due to injury, replaced by Theo Walcott who was also then brought off through injury for debutant Ismael Bennacer.
With Arsenal starting slowly and being disrupted by injuries, they went 1-0 down in the first half through a well-worked goal finished into the bottom corner by Ross Wallace, but one which should perhaps have been defended better on both wings by Mathieu Debuchy and Kieran Gibbs.
The away side then went 2-0 down five minutes before the break, with an orchestrated corner ending in a goal thanks to a Joao header, meaning Sheffield Wednesday took a healthy advantage into the break.
It then took the home side no more than five minutes to get a third, with poor Arsenal defending from a set-piece once again at fault.
The second half was largely quiet and the Gunners failed to grab any hold of the game, losing 3-0.
How did the players rate?
