# Henry – Why I’m so impressed by Ozil

Arsenal record goal scorer and club legend Thierry Henry has heaped praise on Mesut Ozil after the German made yet another convincing appearance for the north London side on Saturday, where they beat Everton 2-1 at the Emirates Stadium.

The World Cup winning midfielder registered another assist, making that seven in the Premier League so far and also making him the ‘king of assists’, [overtaking Eric Cantona as the player with the best games per assist record](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/row-zed/arsenals-mesut-ozil-just-replaced-6707039) in the competition’s history.

> Mesut Özil has the best games per assist rate in Premier League history – on average one every 2.71 matches. (minimum 20 assists) \[[@Orbinho](https://twitter.com/Orbinho)\] — afcstuff (@afcstuff) [October 24, 2015](https://twitter.com/afcstuff/status/657967819863293953)

With the German in the best form of his Arsenal career thus far, Gunners legend Thierry Henry has reiterated the praise being placed on the midfielder’s shoulders, and [admitted it is not a coincidence](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/31969/10042706/thierry-henry-impressed-by-mesut-ozils-impact-in-everton-win) that Ozil’s good form comes at the same time Arsenal top the table (level on points with Manchester City).

> *He did exactly what the game was asking him to do – when he needed to slow it down, he did, when he needed to press forward, he did.*
>
> *He is an amazing player, a World Cup winner, and you have to give him credit because I think this year he has woken up. Sometimes you have to say when it is bad, it is bad. At the* moment *he is on point, and it’s not a coincidence that Arsenal* are *top of the league as it stands.*

Arsenal face Sheffield Wednesday on Tuesday evening and Ozil is expected to be rested ahead of a busy schedule which includes trips to Swansea, Bayern Munich, before facing Spurs at the Emirates.
