Carvalhal – We have a 10% chance of beating Arsenal

Sheffield Wednesday manager Carlos Carvalhal has given his side a 10% chance of beating Arsenal on Tuesday night, when the two sides meet in the fourth round of the Capital One Cup.

Despite being in the Championship, a division below the Gunners, the Owls are in some decent form, having not lost a game for over a month, when they failed to claim all three points away at Burnley, but have since won five of their last eight games – including a thrilling 1-0 win over Newcastle at St. James’ Park in the third round of the Capital One Cup.

Speaking to BBC Radio Sheffield, Carvalhal admitted his side lack any realistic chance of beating the north London side, however, claimed they would fight until the last minute.

We will fight for the whole match and we will be competitive. It will be interesting to see how it goes.

We have probably a 10% chance of getting through. It is not very much but it is better than zero.

Zero means you can do nothing, 10% means we will have 10% of the chances and we have to grab them.

It will be a fantastic day and it will make people remember the past and we hope games like this can be normal for us in the future.

We are playing one of the best teams in the world. I think they have scored 18 goals in their last six games and that includes games against Manchester United and Bayern Munich.

Arsenal take on Sheffield Wednesday at the iconic Hillsborough on Tuesday night, a great opportunity for the south Yorkshire club to record a historic victory.
