According to reports, Arsenal had scouts at Schalke’s Europa league game midweek, watching talented youngster Leroy Sane.
The attacking midfielder came off the bench and scored a goal, a performance which is sure to impress the Gunners scouts.
Liverpool and Tottenham are also reported to have made approaches for him during the summer. The north London side had an £8.5m bid rejected by the German side, whereas Jurgen Klopp’s club met the asking price of £11m, however, Sane rejected them.
The 19-year-old is the son of former Senegalese international Souleyman Sane, however, has chosen to represent Germany at youth level.
The chairman of Schalke has tried to warn the youngster against making a move away from the club, saying that he has a great career ahead of him and that by remaining with his current side, he is on the right track.
At Schalke, Sane has made 28 appearances and has hit the back of the net on eight occasions.
