# Iwobi – Why I owe Thierry Henry

Arsenal youngster Alex Iwobi scored a brace in the U19s 2-0 win over Bayern Munich in the UEFA Youth League on Tuesday, and [post-match he said](https://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2015/oct/21/arsenal-under-19s-thierry-henry-andries-jonker) that he owes his goals to Arsenal legend, Thierry Henry.

Speaking about his first goal, Iwobi described Henry’s advice.

> *I owe that to him (Henry). He told me before the game that most wingers get their goals at the back post so I tried to take his advice on board.*

Iwobi also explains how much he admires Henry.

> *He’s like one of us. He just jokes around. But when we have to be serious he’s very serious. He is teaching us what to do. He may criticise us a few times but that’s just for us to get better.*
>
> *Other coaches I have had have all played football but no disrespect to them; I have never had anyone like Thierry. I am basically learning from the best..*

Henry has been coaching the youth sides for a while now and it has now been shown how much he is admired by the players.

The Arsenal U19s have a busy schedule ahead of them as they travel to Germany before welcoming Croatian side Dinamo Zagreb in late November.
