Santi – The three points were so important

Santi Cazorla spoke to the media after his team edged Bayern Munich in a 2-0 win at the Emirates Stadium.

The Spaniard was ecstatic about the win and expressed how proud he was of the Arsenal unit that is slowly growing into a footballing elite.

We feel good after the win, it was important for us and it was a difficult game against a big team.

We are very happy and proud of the result.

Santi also revealed why Arsenal played so well on Tuesday night against a tough Bayern Munich side which kept hold of the ball but could not find the back of the net.

We had to play close today because they had the ball, they have very good players and we had to defend together. After we counter-attacked and the whole team gave a great performance, which is a best thing.

He also discussed what’s next for Arsenal in the UEFA Champions League, after devastating losses against Dinamo Zagreb and Olympiacos and a monumental victory against Bayern Munich.

We have three more games, it was tough for us – we had to win today to try to go to the next round. The most important thing was to win and now we have to prepare for the next games, against Bayern away, Dinamo at home and Olympiacos away.

Elsewhere, in the Premier League, Arsenal face Everton next on Saturday at the Emirates, where they look to build on their impressive Premier League form after a wonderful Tuesday night win.

The Gunners are currently on a three-game winning streak in the league after winning their past few games by a margin of three goals, a feat that hasn’t been recorded since 2009.
