Bayern Munich star Thomas Muller has said that his German counterpart Mesut Ozil is thriving in north London because of the type of style both Arsenal and the player himself deploy.
German midfielder and World Cup winner Ozil has started the season in fine form, chipping in with one goal and assisting six in 10 appearances for the Gunners.
His brilliant performances haven’t gone unnoticed, Thomas Muller told Arsenal Player that his international teammate’s “outstanding left foot” is his main danger.
Mesut is very lively.
His left foot is outstanding and he’s always got a great eye for a pass to a team-mate.
His style of play fits perfectly to Arsenal’s game. That’s why he plays a good role there.
Mesut can hurt anyone, especially in London, where I see Arsenal as being a tick stronger than when they play away.
We need to prevent Mesut from playing those dangerous passes in the final third.
The German side face off against Arsenal on Tuesday evening in the UEFA Champions League group stages, and the home side are in dire need of win, having lost their last two games in Europe.
Arsenal will be hoping to carry their Premier League form into Europe’s biggest competition after their win at the weekend over Watford.
But, the north London side will find it hard to break through the German champions’ defence. Bayern haven’t conceded so far in the Champions League, while scoring an impressive eight in two games.
