Aaron Ramsey has expressed the confidence that he has in his teammates ahead of Arsenal’s UEFA Champions League clash with German giants Bayern Munich. The Gunners lost their first two games in Europe to Dinamo Zagreb and Olympiacos, meaning it is imperative that they pick up points against Pep Guardiola’s side.
Arsenal have faced off against Bayern Munich a couple of times in the last few years and Ramsey is no stranger to the Germans as he was part of the side which defeated the German Champions at the Allianz Arena in 2013.

While speaking at a news conference ahead of his midweek game with Munich, Ramsey admitted he was impressed by his side’s performances away to Bayern over the recent years and is determined to hit the ground running at the Emirates against the Germans.
We’ve done really well away from home [against Bayern Munich], it’s about starting the game well and getting the momentum and the crowd on our side early on. That’s what we’ll be looking to do to hopefully go on and get the win that we’re looking for.
Ramsey claims he is looking forward to the Champions League fixture because it will be the first real test for the Gunners this season and so will give the Welshman the opportunity he needs to show what he can do.
We’ve had some really good performances and results against Bayern, so we’re looking forward to tomorrow. These are the games that you want to be involved in, play in and test yourself in, so we’re looking forward to that.

When asked to reflect on the Gunners’ last two UEFA Champions League fixtures, Ramsey claims that Arsenal weren’t ready mentally to face either Zagreb or Olympiacos but is now confident that his teammates are ready to face Bayern Munich and hopefully pick up their first points in Europe this season.
As a professional player you always go into every game wanting to give your absolute best.
Unfortunately in the last two Champions League games we were not quite there to get the win, but our focus is now on Bayern and we are really looking forward to playing and going out there to express ourselves.
Arsene Wenger’s side need to step up their European performances if they have any hope of qualifying for the knockout stage in the Champions League because at present the Gunners sit bottom of their group and don’t look likely to even secure Europa League football. No matter what, Arsenal must prove to Bayern exactly why they are still one of the biggest clubs in world football.
