Sky Sports pundits Jamie Redknapp and Thierry Henry told Saturday Night Football that Arsenal have the potential to win the league.
Speaking after the Gunners’ 3-0 away win against Watford on Saturday, Redknapp claimed that Arsenal have a good chance to win their first league title since 2004, in which they spent the whole league season undefeated.
Look at everybody else this season – everybody has had their struggles and Arsenal have more than enough.
I also look to January and think they can bring in one or two players. The last window was a really strange one to say the least. They only got Petr Cech and not getting any outfield players, I thought at the time, was a huge mistake.
Redknapp continued and said that if Arsenal do win the league, it’ll be down to manager Arsene Wenger.
If they go and win the league, you will say Arsene Wenger was right. I don’t think there’s a lot to fear.
Manchester United had a brilliant performance today, Man City can turn it on but they can also throw games away.
Arsenal have found some rhythm. They had a hard start to the season when they lost at home to West Ham and Olympiacos and Dinamo Zagreb, but at the moment they look as good as anybody, so why can’t they win the league?
Arsenal legend Thierry Henry echoed Redknapp’s claims but added that the Gunners need to add some consistency if they want to claim their fourth Premier League title.
They are in the mix for me.
Today was a massive response knowing everybody had won. Everybody was waiting to see if they were going to back up the win against United. Can they do it and maintain it for more than 15, maybe 20 games? That’s what we want to see.
Henry then reinstated his belief in Arsenal, saying they can win the title.
They have to play like that all the time and win games like that sometimes where for an hour they struggle and then come out on top.
Everybody can dream. If you love Arsenal I think they can win the title this season.
The north London side currently sit 2nd in the Premier League behind leaders Manchester City on 19 points. They next face Everton in the Premier League at home on Saturday but face German giants Bayern Munich at home in a UEFA Champions League six-pointer.
