Patronising. The word many have used to describe the way Arsenal’s chairman, Sir Chips Keswick, handled today’s AGM. The 75-year-old found himself heckled after being accused of avoiding questions by many of the club’s fans.
The majority of fans present were left shocked by some of Keswick’s answers, which have been described as ‘patronising’ as well as quite frankly rude.
When asked what it would take for Arsenal to win the league, Keswick simply responded:
[To] get more points than anyone else.
When asked about the club’s UEFA Champions League form, he replied:
I’m not answering that, it’s just noise.
His overall performance at the club’s AGM has clearly left many fans questioning the capabilities of Keswick for the role of Chairman. Judging by the response on Twitter, they feel no less than let down.
@carey1485 @Calum36Chambers Keswick was embarrassing. Ivan and Wenger were only ones who worth their salt today

A shareholder has shouted that Keswick is a disgrace and then a couple boo Keswick.

Arsenal Shareholders clearly unhappy with Keswick who didn’t directly answer question on Stan Kroenke’s £3m advisory fee.

If this Arsenal AGM has shown us anything, it is that Sir Chips Keswick is just not fit to be Chairman of Arsenal.
Gazidis excellent again.
