Southampton boss Ronald Koeman has ignited a war of words with Jose Mourinho by claiming that Chelsea should play with a more attacking style – like long-term rival Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal side.
The comments came after Southampton shocked Chelsea by handing them their fourth defeat of the season with a 3-1 victory.
Reflecting on the weekend’s events, Koeman hailed Arsenal’s 3-0 humiliation of Manchester United. He then compared the style of Chelsea with the way Arsenal play, like to the displeasure of Mourinho.

Even if his [Mourinho] team goes 1-0 up, they would rather defend the lead than try to score more goals.
Yet Arsenal can kill an opponent. That is why their victory over United was so impressive. Attacking-wise, they completely destroyed United.
For 20 minutes they played the most fantastic football while Chelsea do the opposite thing. By defending, Chelsea give their opponents a chance to come back in the game.

Could this be the start of another fierce rivalry with the Chelsea boss? The pair have only faced each other three times so far, with Koeman currently holding the edge over his opponent with a record of one win and two draws.
