After a difficult start to the 2015/16 campaign, Mathieu Debuchy may use the January transfer window to reignite his career at a different club. Italian side Roma are believed to be keeping an eye on the situation as they seek to bring the right-back to the Stadio Olimpico.
The 30-year-old arrived at the Emirates in the summer of 2014 but after a promising start to his Arsenal career, he has been plagued by injuries. This has meant that Spanish starlet Hector Bellerin has established himself in the starting XI after initially filling in for the Frenchman. A lack of game time for Arsenal is now also affecting his national team security with former Arsenal man Bacary Sagna as well as Christophe Jallet offering fierce competition there.

Roma are in desperate need for a right-back as they are currently using attacking midfielder Alessandro Florenzi in the position due to their shortage. Debuchy certainly fits the bill for the Serie A side, due to his vast amounts of experience. It’s hard to argue that the move doesn’t suit Debuchy himself – at 30-years-old, his career is in its latter stages. He’d be a guaranteed starter and would join up with compatriot Lucas Digne who is on loan from PSG.
