Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud has found himself become the second choice striker at the north London club following Theo Walcott’s goalscoring form, but he looks to be handling the situation professionally and wants to take positives from the new experience.

It has been for several matches now that I have played less, that is for sure, but I do not need to be worried. I need a bit more game time but also to believe more in my abilities.
Whether it was at Tours, Montpellier or Arsenal, I have never experienced a situation like this, I have often played from the start. I need to take positives and to harden myself mentally. It is something new for me.
Theo Walcott has been in fine goalscoring form for the north London club and has been stepping up his all-round game as well. He played a huge part in Arsenal’s 3-0 win over rivals Manchester United.

Olivier Giroud has praised his teammate, and believes there is no reason for the England man to be dropped from the Arsenal starting line-up as he is currently doing well.
At Arsenal, I am in competition with Theo for the striker position. But he is doing well at the moment, so there is no reason to change.
I was in [Walcott’s] place in previous seasons at Arsenal. I imagine what he must have been thinking. But I feel that the coach believes in me.
Giroud will, however, surely fight to regain his spot and repay the belief shown by both Arsene Wenger and Didier Deschamps.
He has already taken a step in proving himself after scoring a first half brace for France against Denmark on Sunday night, and will look to continue to impress, if given the opportunity, in similar fashion.

Arsenal travel to Watford next week, and Giroud may get that chance to start if Theo Walcott is rested for the Bayern clash which comes only three days later.
