According to The Mirror, Barcelona youngster Sergi Samper is interested in swapping life at Barcelona for a fresh challenge in north London, with Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal side.
The central midfielder’s buyout clause is priced at around the £8m mark, which Gunners boss Wenger is interested in paying for the Spaniard.
Because of a lack of playing time under current boss Luis Enrique, Samper is weighing up a move away from the La Liga champions. Another La Liga star that is interested in making the switch from Spain to north London is Celta Vigo forward Nolito.
It had been suggested that Arsenal were expressing an interest in the Spaniard, who at the time was not interested in a move, but the 28-year-old has now decided that he would relish the chance to play for the current FA Cup winners.
If the duo did make the switch from Spain to the Emirates Stadium, they would be joining up with fellow international team-mates Santi Cazorla, Nacho Monreal and Hector Bellerin.
