Ahead of Arsenal’s weekend clash with Manchester United, the Gunners’ French international Olivier Giroud has spoken to Arsenal Player about the his side’s loss to Olympiacos in the UEFA Champions League and argues that their next fixture against the Red Devils will be the perfect game for them to bounce back.
It’s a big game, it’s always nice to play a massive game to bounce back.
The focus will be even more present than usual.

Giroud admitted that he was frustrated by his side’s disappointing 3-2 loss to Olympiacos but also argued that his teammates must learn from the mistakes of that game and forget about the rest.
We need to learn from our mistakes [against Olympiacos].
When we came back to 2-2 I thought we could have the time to win the game. We still had 15 minutes to score the third goal but we forgot the basics of keeping a good defensive shape.
We conceded the third goal on a break so it was a disappointing result but it’s like that. It’s part of the past now and we need to focus on bouncing back against Manchester United.
It’s a big game.
Olivier Giroud scored Arsenal’s only goal after coming on as a substitute when United last visited the Emirates in a 2-1 defeat for the home side. Looking back on the goal, Giroud reflected that he just wanted to help his side earn a good result and is committed to helping the Gunners earn a win this weekend.
It was a special moment for me because I had just come back from three months of injury and I was a substitute, when I came on I wanted to give everything as usual, but I needed to play on the pitch which is where I am most happy.
I was really, really proud to score this goal especially because I was out for a long time, but I was disappointed because of the result.
I remember Rooney’s goal and it was so frustrating because we dominated the game. Hopefully on Sunday we will be efficient and stronger than them.

Arsenal take on Manchester United this Sunday in a match that could potentially see them go level with Van Gaal’s side on points. With the League still very much up for grabs, matches like this will prove vital in Arsenal’s campaign for their first League title in 11 years.
