Calum Chambers has told Arsenal Player that he would like to one day be a role model to younger players coming through the ranks, like many of the current senior players in the ilk of Laurent Koscielny and vice-captain Per Mertesacker have been to him.
The one-time England international admitted that he looks to the senior defenders for advice.
Per is always there to help me out.
In training, if I ever need someone or are a bit confused I ask Per, Koscielny or Gabriel what they would do.

It is these role model qualities that Chambers hopes to pick up himself, and already he feels that he is developing as a character and a player whilst playing with esteemed internationals.
I try to stay as professional as possible.
It’s nice to think that kids look up to you. I read my social media and see people tweeting me nice things.
Chambers pays tribute to his junior days at Southampton, telling that it was the attributes developed at a young age that helped shape the character he currently boasts.

At Southampton we had a very focused age group that worked really hard…we loved being in every day, playing every day and doing extra work after training.
Still a junior defender in relative terms, Chambers is hoping that the way he acts, both on an off the field, can set an example for kids of the future wanting to emulate their heroes.
