According to Arsenal star Mesut Ozil’s agent Dr. Erkut Sogut, Turkish side Fenerbahce are seriously interested in signing the German.
Fenerbahce are serious but it all depends on what answer Arsenal give.
It will all become clear at the end of the season.
The 26-year-old arrived at the Emirates in the summer of 2013 for a club record fee of £42.4m. At previous club, Real Madrid, Ozil developed a reputation as one of the best creative players in the world, with a record that saw him gain 47 assists in 105 games for the Spanish giants.
Since joining the north London club however, Ozil has come under fire from news outlets and fans alike for failing to recapture the consistently excellent form he had in the Spanish capital. Many feel as if the World Cup winner goes missing in the ‘big’ games. Despite this, Ozil is statistically the most creative player in the league, but this has not stopped speculation over his future.
Ozil is reported to be a lifelong Fenerbahce supporter, and once told a Turkish news outlet that he would be honoured to play for the club.
In the future I want to wear a Fenerbahce shirt – it would be an honour.
Everyone knows I am a Fenerbahce fan.
This could have some sway in a potential move to the club, as well as the fact that Ozil enjoys regular visits to Turkey.
