A controversial match, to say the least, Arsenal lost to London rivals Chelsea in a disappointing, irritating fashion. The score ended 2-0, but the loss seems much worse based on the two red cards for Arsenal, issued to Gabriel Paulista and Santi Cazorla – both very questionable calls. Each had a yellow before they were sent off, but referee Mike Dean did not pull a second yellow so both players have three match bans as it stands. Chelsea forward Diego Costa, seemingly always at the centre of controversy every weekend, could and arguably should have seen red as well, but Dean decided not to send the Spaniard off.
The first Chelsea goal came when Arsenal was down to ten men with a Kurt Zouma header through a set piece and the second came late when the north London side were down to nine courtesy of Eden Hazard’s strike which deflected off Calum Chambers on the way in. Here are the three stars of the match.
