Following Arsene Wenger’s Friday lunchtime news conference, the Arsenal manager has given an update on the current injuries and squad news for the game against Chelsea on Saturday.
Wenger gave his overview of the squad, saying that Hector Bellerin and Aaron Ramsey were to come straight back into the side.
We have no injuries and we left Ramsey and Bellerin behind [for the Zagreb game].
They integrate into the squad again. Mertesacker may still be a bit short, I have to decide that today (Friday).
He also admitted that Per Mertesacker missed the midweek game with illness and could still potentially feature against the reigning champions. However, Gabriel and Laurent Koscielny are likely to start the match as Arsenal’s starting pairing in the back four.

Wenger also spoke about the injury to Jack Wilshere.
He will have surgery next week and it is a blow, a big problem. But on the short term only because it does not damage his future.
Wilshere has been riddled with a number of injuries during his career and every time he looks like he is about to reach his potential, he suffer constant setbacks and that looks to be the case once more.
Arsenal beat Stoke 2-0 in their last Premier League game and face a Chelsea side that have had an indifferent start to the season and Arsene Wenger’s side will look to add to their misery, however, Wenger has never beaten a Mourinho side in a competitive match. They did beat Chelsea in the Community Shield last month though, thanks to Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s left-footed strike.
