# Surgery to rule Wilshere out of action

Arsenal fans are set for an even longer wait before they get to see Jack Wilshere feature competitively this season.

The England international, whose career has been plagued by a number of injuries, has suffered yet another setback. With [reports coming out of the club](https://www.arsenal.com/news/news-archive/20150915/jack-wilshere-to-undergo-surgery) that he is to undergo surgery in the coming weeks, he will likely miss at least the next three months of action.

The decision to take matters into their own hands has been taken quickly after visiting a number of specialists, who feel that the England international’s scans show that the healing process is not how they hoped it would be and he is set to have surgery in the next dew days, which involves putting a small plate in his left fibula.

This comes shortly after the news that fellow England international Danny Welbeck had also suffered [an injury setback.](https://www.arsenal.com/news/news-archive/20150903/danny-welbeck-undergoes-knee-surgery)

Arsenal fans will be frustrated even further by Wilshere’s injuries, but will take solace from the fact that they have so many talented midfielders to fill the void. Whether the 23-year-old is able to properly recover from yet another setback to his career still remains to be seen.
