Arsenal & Liverpool to battle for Spanish midfielder

Arsenal could be about to battle Liverpool for the signature of 19-year-old Spanish starlet Dani Ceballos.

With a release clause believed to be £7.5m and a contract which expires in less than a year, Ceballos could be signed for even less than the fee which would trigger his sale – due to the fact that his side, Real Betis, could end up receiving nothing for him if he doesn’t sign a new contract and ends up leaving on a free.

The Gunners showed late interest in the Spain U19 international but were reportedly rejected by the player himself after claims he was happy to stay at his current side a little bit longer.

At only 19-years-old, Ceballos is tipped for great things and has been likened to Cesc Fabregas, due to his incisive passing and could be the sort of midfielder that Arsenal need to compliment Francis Coquelin in the middle of the park – but according to The Mirror, the north London club will face stiff competition for the Real Betis midfielder from Brendan Rodgers’ Liverpool.

Ceballos would be free to sign a pre-contract agreement with the club of his choosing from January onwards.
