# Arsenal looking at Real Madrid midfielder Isco

Arsenal could be readying a bid for Real Madrid attacking midfielder Isco, with the north London side having s[couted the 23-year-old last season](https://metro.co.uk/2015/06/03/arsenal-send-scouts-to-watch-real-madrids-isco-ahead-of-transfer-5228584/).

[According to](https://talksport.com/football/arsenal-manchester-city-and-juventus-ready-do-battle-over-isco-150907165732)*[Sport](https://talksport.com/football/arsenal-manchester-city-and-juventus-ready-do-battle-over-isco-150907165732)* in Spain, the Gunners will face tough competition from Manchester City and Juventus, with the Spanish outlet claiming the two clubs have shown interest in the player – but did not mention Arsene Wenger’s side.

A move from Manchester City for Isco seems likely considering Manuel Pellegrini previously coached the attacking midfielder during his time at Malaga – the only hindrance is whether the cash-rich Citizens could fit Isco into the side, with the likes of David Silva, recently signed Kevin De Bruyne and Raheem Sterling all occupying the attacking positions.

Meanwhile, *Sport* claim that Juventus enquired about Isco’s availability last summer but were brushed off by Madrid, who want to keep a hold of their prised possession.

Isco joined Real Madrid in June 2013 [for a fee of €30m](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isco)but has struggled to gain a consistent starting spot in the side, making over 50 appearances for the Spanish giants last season, with the majority coming from the bench.

It’s unlikely that Arsenal will make a move for the attacking midfielder in January, but with the likes of Santi Cazorla aging, Isco could prove to be an upgrade on the experienced Premier League midfielder.
