Speaking at a news conference earlier on Thursday, England international Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain shared his opinion on his Arsenal teammate Theo Walcott, and how he believes he can fill the striker spot in the England national team. The squad travel to San Marino to continue their European Championship qualifying round in group E on Saturday, with Walcott included as one of England four main strikers.
Ahead of the fixture, 22-year-old Arsenal and England winger Oxlade-Chamberlain says he believes Walcott can help secure England’s place in the Euro finals held in France next year, and with a win over San Marino, that will be enough to proceed in the competition.
I think Theo has been ready for a number of years to play there.
He’s someone I look up to and admire as a person and a player for club and country in his long career proves why he is ready, his goalscoring record proves why he is ready to play up front.

Walcott was one of Arsenal’s stand-out players coming to the end of last season, with the Englishman netting a hat-trick against West Brom in the final Premier League game of the season, before scoring the first of four goals in the FA Cup final, starting both games as the main Striker.
However this season, Theo is yet to register a goal for the Gunners in four games, but that hasn’t affected the Ox’s opinion of his fellow Gooner.
He is a great player and poses different threats than other strikers with his ability to run in behind, I have no doubt Theo can play up front – or in midfield as well.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who has impressed so far this season with some dazzling performances for Arsenal, went on to discuss England.
It’s almost gone under the radar within the camp really, our main focus has been the team and the San Marino game and then the game on Tuesday.
I wouldn’t put it past him to break it on Saturday, whenever he makes that achievement he has been an amazing player for England for so many years.
England take on San Marino this Saturday before heading back to London and hosting Switzerland at Wembley in their second qualifying game of the month.
