Arsenal have announced their 25-man Premier League squad for the season – and perhaps the only surprise inclusion was Joel Campbell, who was reported all summer to be on his way out of the club.
Nevertheless, the Costa Rican was retained in north London and has been included, alongside homegrown and injury-struck Danny Welbeck.
The England international had surgery on Thursday, which the club announced will ‘rule him out for some months’ – but has been included in the 25-man squad to represent the Gunners for the season.
Arsenal’s only senior signing of the summer, Petr Cech, has also been included in the squad – and is looking every bit the player that Arsene Wenger intended to sign after a tough start to his career at the Emirates Stadium.

Gabriel Paulista
