Following the transfer deadline day, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger came under heavy criticism for not adding any outfield players to his side – leaving many fans infuriated with the club’s position.
However, Dominic Fleming, reporting for Samba Foot, writes that former Arsenal midfielder Denilson, who now plays for Al-Wahada in Abu Dhabi, claims that Wenger is a professional of the highest calibre and applauded him for his management of his players.
For me he is a great coach. It was Wenger who turned players like Fabregas into the world-class players they are today. Wenger is a professional of the highest level. I wish to thank him for everything he taught me.

Denilson made 153 appearances for the Gunners and scored 11 times, but was eventually sold after a string of poor performances saw him slip from the starting XI. However, even though his time at Arsenal was not all that it has been hyped up to be, the Brazilian still only has positive things to say about former manager Arsene Wenger.
This is not a coach who talks a lot. But on the ground, his advice was invaluable. He taught me to obey tactically. However, he gave me a lot of freedom in the offensive phase. I have only positive things to say about Wenger!
With Petr Cech proving to be Arsenal’s only purchase of the summer, Gunner’s fans everywhere will be hoping that their team is already strong enough to challenge for the Premier League title.
