Arsenal have made a last-ditch effort to sign Russian striker Aleksandr Kokorin on loan from Dynamo Moscow, according to Sami Mokbel of the Daily Mail.
Kokorin has been mooted as a potential striker target for the last few weeks and has been on Arsenal’s – among many other clubs’ – radar.

Talks between the two clubs have taken place over a temporary switch, with the a view to a more permanent deal in the future.
The report in the Daily Mail suggests that a striker is the priority as opposed to a defensive midfielder. The emergence of Coquelin has been enough to persuade Arsene Wenger not to buy in that area of the pitch.
Arsenal have been linked with Edinson Cavani, Luis Suarez, Gonzalo Higuain, Karim Benzema and a whole host of strikers in the past few years. While Kokorin perhaps isn’t the name some wanted to hear linked with the club, the fact the club remain somewhat active should instil some sort of hope about today.
Kokorin, 24, scored 10 goals in 39 games last season. He is seen as a highly-rated prospect in Russia and has gone to two major tournaments with the national side. This makes it hard to see how a loan deal is even viable.
