# Arsenal readying striker medical

Arsenal are readying a medical for a mystery striker, according to [*Football Insider*](https://www.footballinsider247.com/exclusive/arsenal-transfer-news-gunners-schedule-medical).

The club have been heavily linked to a number of players this summer, including a host of forwards amongst the likes of [Edinson Cavani](https://readarsenal.com/2015/08/11/arsenal-back-in-for-cavani/), [Karim Benzema](https://readarsenal.com/2015/08/21/karim-benzema-fly-medical/) and [Aleksandr Kokorin](https://readarsenal.com/2015/08/25/arsenal-close-aleksandr-kokorin/).

None of the aforementioned have had any real substance to them, with Benzema recently confirming that he is staying at Real Madrid and Cavani featuring for his club PSG over the weekend.

Sources have told Football Insider that a medical has been booked for a striker at the club’s Hertfordshire base and thus many names will now be touted as transfer deadline day closes in on Tuesday.

Having failed to impress so far early in the season, both Theo Walcott and Olivier Giroud have come under mass scrutiny from pundits, supporters and former Arsenal players, who have all admitted that the club are desperate for a new forward to finish chances and drive the club to the top of the Premier League.

Who could the mystery striker be? Is it any of the much-linked players, or is it someone no one is expecting? Either way, deadline day is going to be an exciting one from an Arsenal perspective.
