# Arsenal braced for Campbell bid

Arsenal are set to receive a bid from Turkish giants Galatasaray for Costa Rican outcast Joel Campbell. Over the summer, many European clubs have tried to sign Campbell, but Arsenal’s asking price of £7 million has warned them all off, however, Galatasaray are set to try and capture the attacker for less that the Gunners’ asking price.

Joel Campbell has been at Arsenal for four years now and in that time has only managed ten appearances for the Gunners. Eren Sarigul, writing for [Turkish-football.com](https://www.turkish-football.com/galatasaray-prepare-bid-for-arsenal-forward-joel-campbell/) reports that the Turkish side are looking to take the Costa Rican international off of Arsenal’s hands.

The Costa Rica international has previously spent seasons out on loan, most recently at Villareal, but has not done enough to warrant a spot in the Arsenal first team and thus his lack of game time may cause him to consider the upcoming offer from the Istanbul-based side. However, earlier in the transfer window [Wenger stated](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/482578/Arsene-Wenger-wants-to-keep-Joel-Campbell-as-Arsenal-s-young-star-fires-Costa-Rica-forward) that he would prefer Campbell to remain at Arsenal as he sees him as a great player.
