On Wednesday 23rd September, Arsenal will travel to White Hart Lane to face Tottenham Hotspur in the third round of the Capital One Cup.
Arsene Wenger commented on the tie, which guarantees at least three north London derby’s in a single season: “It’s an interesting draw and we have had some fierce competition with Tottenham over the years, even in the League Cup.
“It will be interesting but for us it’s an opportunity to go through and we will take the competition seriously.”
The Gunners have had a tough start to the Premier League season, losing on the opening day to West Ham at home, with a less-than-comfortable performance from Petr Cech on his full debut the highlight of the game, but the north London side were able to defeat Crystal Palace as they travelled to Selhurst Park, where Cech made a string of important saves.

It was, however, against Liverpool, in the 0-0 draw on Monday night, that the 33-year-old proved why Arsene Wenger spent £11m to prise him away from Chelsea, where he made eight saves, including a couple of point-saving efforts.
Arsenal face Newcastle United on Saturday, where they will be hoping to take three points away from the long journey to the north East.
