Arsenal star Mesut Özil has been linked with a shock move to Besiktas in recent days, but Arsene Wenger has reassured the Gunners’ fans that their record signing is committed to the club. Speaking to the media, the Arsenal manager hailed the 26-year-old:“He is completely committed to the club.
“He is focused on getting results.”
This will come as good news to Gooners, who will hope that the club’s most expensive ever player can stay fit next season and consistently hit the heights he has shown sporadically in his first couple of seasons in north London. The 26-year-old has had good runs of form, but they have often been harshly stopped by injuries – but many think this season will be the one when he can have a strong full, strong campaign, showing why he was once hailed the best number 10 in the world.
Özil was a key part of Arsenal’s sensational late surge last campaign, scoring important goals, such as those against Brighton and Hove Albion in the FA Cup run and against Liverpool in the emphatic 4-1 home win. He also starred in the FA Cup final, where Arsenal destroyed Aston Villa 4-0.
