In an interview with Arsenal Player, Arsene Wenger called Wellington Silva ‘stunning to watch’, after the 22-year-old attacker completed his loan to Championship side Bolton Wanderers.
The Brazilian has previously enjoyed loan spells at numerous European sides including Levante, Murcia and Almeria. However, he is still yet to make his Arsenal debut, despite joining the club back in 2011 from Fluminese.
Now he finally has the chance to prove himself in England and Wenger believes that “Bolton will be surprised by his quality”. When talking about the youngster, the manager described him as “a creative, tricky, quick player”.
Wenger’s confidence in Wellington was assured, with him saying: “I believe he will do extremely well because he has gained a lot of experience in Spain, he has come back to England and I’m confident he will have a big impact in the Championship”.
Welligton Silva joined Arsenal for an initial £3.5m and will certainly be keen to be given the opportunity to prove his worth following yet another spell away from the club. On top of this, he will want to also make his entrance on the international scene for the Brazilian senior side. He has already featured for the nation’s U17 and U21 age groups.
