Theo Walcott wants to speed past 100 goals for Arsenal this season, having scored 76 so far during his Gunners career. Speaking to Arsenal Player, he’s confident in his abilities to do just that, having also just signed a new four-year deal at the Emirates.
“It’s achievable, definitely. I have to look after myself, train well, play well and we’ll see where it takes me. But I’m very confident.”

To reach 100 goals would require Walcott to have his best ever season in an Arsenal shirt in terms of goal-scoring exploits, with him needing to beat his 2012-13 total by three just to reach the century. He only managed to net seven times during the season just gone, but was hampered by an ACL injury at the start of the season. However, he closed out the season on an extremely high note, scoring four goals against West Brom and Aston Villa, with the goal against Villa being the opener in the 4-0 FA Cup final victory.
Walcott has continually impressed during games against West Ham – Arsenal’s first opponents of the 2015/16 Premier League season, but believes defence will be just as important as attack, saying: “We know we’re going to score goals all the time.
It’s just keeping clean sheets, which we’ve been doing very handsomely. That definitely bodes well for the new season ahead.”
