Arsenal have been given the green light to pursue their interest in AC Milan target Alessio Romagnoli, reports The Telegraph.
AC Milan have reportedly tabled a £20 million bid for the 20-year-old defender, currently playing for Roma, but the Giallorossi’s have apparently stated they won’t listen to anything under £25 million.
Talks between the two Italian Giants have apparently come to a halt, according to TalkSport, meaning the Gunners have the opportunity to approach the defender.
Arsenal don’t have huge amounts of depth in the central defensive position, which is why Romagnoli would be a sensible signing for the North Londoners, to add to their very strong looking side for the 2015/16 season.
The young Italian, labelled as a player with bags of potential, spent last season on loan at Sampdoria, making a total of 31 appearances in all competitions.
With a price tag of £25 million at only 20 years old, it shows Roma definitely believe the player has something special, so it wouldn’t be a surprise if Wenger went for him.
