Walcott signs new 4 year contract

Arsenal winger Theo Walcott has signed a brand new 4-year-deal at the club reportedly worth £140,000 a week. The club announced the news alongside a new contract for Santi Cazorla as he pens a contact extension.

26-year-old Walcott who has been at the club since 2006 is currently Arsenal’s longest serving player and enjoyed a successful second half to the 2014/15 season after coming back from injury. He made 21 appearances scoring 7 goals including scoring the opening goal in the 4-0 FA Cup win over Aston Villa.

Last season also saw Theo make his 300th appearance for the club and he now looks set for many more with this 4 -year-deal. The winger/forward has also represented England 40 times and will be looking for a successful campaign to book his place in the England squad for Euro 2016.

Here’s what the manager had to say on the clubs official site;

“We’re delighted to have extended the contracts of Santi and Theo. Both are top quality players who are hugely important and influential to our squad.

“As well as their huge contributions on the pitch, they both have a great deal of experience and are very popular off the pitch. We’re very pleased with them both signing contract extensions, as it provides our squad with further stability of quality.”
