UPDATE: Carl Jenkinson has rejoined West Ham on a season long loan.
—
Carl Jenkinson is set to commit his future to Arsenal, according to ESPN FC. The defender will reportedly put pen to paper on a new five-year deal, worth £45,000 and it will keep him at the club until 2020 and the 23-year-old is then expected to complete a loan move to West Ham, as the Englishman looks to gain another full season of first-team football experience in the Premier League.
Jenkinson was signed by manager Arsene Wenger in the summer of 2011 for £1million, from Championship side Charlton.
The right-back, who is a boyhood Arsenal fan, has one goal in 57 appearances for the Gunners and spent the previous campaign on loan at Upton Park, during which he appeared 36 times.
In addition to being eligible for Finland and Sweden, Jenkinson has made one international appearance for the England national side.
He will hope to impress once again in East London, as competition hots up with fellow right-backs Mathieu Debuchy and Hector Bellerin.
