Arsenal are bracing themselves for a bid from Juventus for star midfielder Mesut Ozil, according to Italian publication Tuttosport.
Juventus have already added Sami Khedira to their squad and it is reported that they would like to bring in his compatriot Ozil to play alongside him.
However, the report goes on to state that the Serie A champions would only bid for the German international if Paul Pogba leaves Italy, with the Frenchman heavily sought-after by the likes of Manchester City and Barcelona.
Juventus have also lost Andrea Pirlo to the MLS while Arturo Vidal continues to be linked with a move away, but Arsene Wenger would be reluctant to sell the player he paid circa £42 million for in 2013.
Although the former Real Madrid midfielder has come under criticism at times for his lack of form, Wenger believes he has much to offer and will be buoyed by his performances towards the end of last season.
The 26-year-old, who was part of Germany’s World Cup winning team, played 22 games in the league last season, scoring four goals and providing five assists.
