Arsenal left-back Nacho Monreal could depart for La Liga, according to Spanish outlet Marca, as the defender is linked with a move to Athletic Bilbao.
The Spaniard featured on 28 occasions in the Premier League last season, keeping Englishman Kieran Gibbs out of the starting line-up and has quickly become a fan favourite. In addition to this, the 29-year-old has often stated that he is happy at the North London club, with a fabulous team goal scored by the former Malaga man against Manchester United earlier this year perhaps his highlight.
However, Marca report that the player, who has been capped 16 times for the Spanish national side, will make the move to Bilbao this summer.
Monreal has a plethora of experience in the Spanish top flight, having spent the majority of his career there with Osasuna and Malaga. He was signed by Arsene Wenger in 2013 for roughly £8.2million, with Kieran Gibbs suffering from one of his many injuries at the time.
Despite having one year left on his current Gunners contract, there are no signs that the deal will be extended. Therefore, Arsenal may look to sell the player this window as opposed to let him leave for free next summer. His departure could pave the way for Algerian defender Faouzi Ghoulam.
