Arsenal have made an approach to Genk to sign talented midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, according to reports.
The 20-year-old midfielder made 24 appearances in the Belgian Pro League last season, scoring five times. The Serbian is a first-team regular for the U21 side and was awarded the Bronze Ball as Serbia won the U20 World Cup this summer.
Manchester United have also enquired into the possibility of signing the highly-rated midfielder, who is also being lined up by Serie A side Lazio, who have already seen a £4.3m bid turned down by Genk for their talented prospect.
Savic would join up with Arsenal’s budding youth setup as he has a bright future ahead of him. Arsenal did sign Krystian Bielik last season and have the likes of Dan Crowley and Gedion Zelalem waiting in the wings, so it’d be interesting to see where Milinkovic-Savic fits into Arsene Wenger’s long-term plan.
