Theo Walcott has penned a new contract with the Arsenal which sees his stay extended until summer 2019 according to reports in the Guardian.
The England international forward has only been a bit-part player for Arsenal since his return from a major knee injury, featuring in only 15 league games this season, mostly as a substitute.
His previous contract, a three-year deal reportedly worth £100,000-a-week, was due to expire at the end of next season, but this new deal , with a likely pay-rise sees Theo remain a key player in the squad.
Happily settled in the south-east of England, Walcott had no interest in a move elsewhere to uproot his entire family, so an Arsenal stay is the perfect solution all round.
Hopefully we see Walcott back to his best next season and firing goals for Arsenal and England.
