# Podolski to leave

Arsenal striker Lukas Podolski has confirmed that he is set to leave Arsenal and will be joining Galatasaray, for a reported fee of just over £2m.

The German striker played 82 times for the Gunners during his three years in North London, scoring 31 goals, but fell out of favour in the last two seasons, being reduced to making substitute appearances time and time again.

Podolski, 30, was loaned to Inter Milan last season, but did not impress, scoring only one goal for the Italian giants.

*“I want to leave.”*

With competition for places in the forward positions at Arsenal, it is unlikely that Arsene Wenger would be able to find space for Podolski in his squad, and with the German believing he is good enough to play for a top team, he will likely have to find his football elsewhere.
