# Ozil- It’s fun to play alongside Santi

After being voted third in the Player of the Season competition for Arsenal, further praise has been heaped on the Spanish superstar Santi Cazorla, on this occasion by teammate Mesut Ozil.

With a new, deeper role to adapt to, some may have had their doubts over Santi Cazorla’s long term future in North London, but the 30 year-old has excelled this season and enjoyed arguably his best campaign since becoming a red, with the Spaniard claiming seven goals and an impressive 13 assists.

Another Gunner who had a fantastic season was record-signing Mesut Ozil, and the German was full of kind words to say about his midfield partner: “Santi’s been very strong,” he said while speaking to Arsenal Player.

“He’s had to adapt to a new position which he may not have always been used to playing in.

“I think he’s been excellent this year. We’re very happy to have a player like him in our ranks. He’s very good on the ball, as we all know, and is now very defensively strong too.

“I think we’ll have lots of enjoyment with him over the years because he’s a creative player and it’s a lot of fun for me to play alongside him.

“It makes it easier for me too because he sees things that some other players may not. That’s why we’re pleased to have him here.”

It has been much rumoured that Cazorla could be on his way out at the end of the season, with a move back to his native Spain on the cards, but after such a fantastic season, it will take a lot of money for Arsene Wenger to let the former Real Oviedo man go.
